About melal Orchestar

 

The Fundational of “Melal Orchestra” is formed on the basis of the interaction between two musical cultures, namely Iranian instrumental music church music (the pioneering musical tradition of the world in the 18th and 19th century). Melal Orchestra consist of more than 10 Iranian instruments (Mezrabi, ‘instruments played by mallets’ set which have melodic role, accompaniments and percussions ) and more than 10 kind of strings and accompaniments from Europe.

Melal orchestra involves 70 instrumentalists (60 melodic instrumentalist and 10 accompaniment instrumentalists) and a Chorus. Moste of the instrumentalists have been selected from a group of high ranking students majoring in music and have been selected regarding their high level of virtuosity.
